On This Day in Hip Hop History.....

X-Clan released their debut album 23 years ago.

Down Beat, a publication that focuses mostly on Jazz and Blues, did review this album (with a justified 5 star rating) and said it's "food for thought with a breakbeat", and I definitely cosign with that statement. The promotion of "Afrocentrism" was in full effect all throughout this album, and the X-Clan did it so well. Much props and respect to them indeed.

R.I.P. to Sugar Shaft, who passed away in 1995 due to complications of AIDS, and Professor X, he passed away on March 17, 2006 from complications of spinal meningitis.
