On This Day in Hip Hop History.....

(I normally step away from the blog on Sundays, so this marks my first post ever on a  Sunday!)

Audio Two released their debut album, "What More Can I Say", 25 years ago.

Audio Two's sole contribution to hip hop, the classic "Top Billin" still holds up today. What most may not know today is that the unforgettable beat was produced by Stetsasonic's own Daddy-O. Interesting fact right there. Although they would release another album in 1990 titled "I Don't Care: The Album", "Top Billin" was essentially their peak as artists and their popularity, because after that song, that was it for them, figuratively. Hip hop was clearly changing around them and they were left behind as a result. Overall, you can't deny the impact that the "Top Billin" single has left on hip hop.
