While I was going through my collection putting plans in place for an "upcoming project", I was focused mostly on my 1980s collection, and although that decade was quite memorable, 1988 was arguably the best year in hip hop history. When you look at the classic, groundbreaking albums (and singles) that were released that year, it's no wonder it's always been mentioned as one of the best, and I tend to agree. Creativity was at an all time high, there was hardly any wack material flooding radio and TV, artists were free to express themselves how they wanted, and sales didn't really matter. Take a look at what this landmark year produced:

Pretty landmark year if you ask me!!!!!
